NissanConnect is hands-free technology which will feature more than 200 voice activated apps.

Just about every new vehicle is now coming equipped with technology that is compatible with smartphones. The number of smartphones is steadily rising, so manufacturers are coming up with a variety of different ways of integrating it in their vehicles. Nissan’s foray into the smartphone-compatible vehicle comes in the form of NissanConnect Technology, which is controlled hands-free through the display screen on the dashboard. It allows you to stay connected and entertained without being distracted while driving. Nissan has teamed up with a few great technology innovators, to provide just about every popular app for the system. That list includes Google, Pandora and Sirius.

SiriusXM Traffic assists you in getting to your destination quicker by taking you on alternate routes to avoid delays from construction or backed up highways. The Facebook app allows you to like and comment posts on your news feed, or post your own status all without taking your hands from the wheel. A hands-free texting assistant allows you to listen to new texts and reply back with a voice recognition system. Bluetooth capabilities take away the hassle of using a cord and allow for your passengers to control the music from any seat in the vehicle. NissanConnect also includes a slew of features which allow you to hear recent news, weather, restaurant reviews and movie times. You can even book a room with nothing but your voice.

This is now a world where many feel the need to be connected every waking second. Nissan has realized this, and knows that just because someone is behind the wheel, doesn’t mean they’re going to get off the phone. NissanConnect allows people to remain connected in their car, but without taking their attention from the road.

There are a few different systems available right now. Some of the 2013 models, which we have in our new car inventory, are available with NissanConnect with navigation, but so far only the 2014 Altima Sedan can be equipped with the apps that we mentioned. Luckily for you, we have the 2014 Altima in stock at Briggs Nissan. If you’re one of the people that just can’t put that phone down, we highly suggest looking into a vehicle equipped with NissanConnect.
